Children should have 'creative control over bedroom'
Published: 28 April 2009
Creativity is something which all parents want to nurture in their children, with many perhaps wanting to give their offspring free reign over their bed linen and curtain choices - after all, it helps develop this life skill, a new report states.
All parents no doubt want to enhance their child's creativity, with one great way of encouraging this being to allow them to design their own bedroom, it has been explained.According to News Canada, involving children in their bedroom's decor, such as through the choice of curtains, bedding and rugs, is one great way to get their imaginations running wild.
Other ideas put forward by the news resource include allowing them to take photographs in special moments, or to allow them into the kitchen to help bake a cake or other treats.
It stated that regardless of the contribution, the child will get better with encouragement and praise.
One way children and parents can bring spring into the bedroom is to use pastel colours, according to Fionnuala Johnston, the design manager of B&Q.
