Obama dog 'not allowed on president's bed linen'

The bed linen of Barack Obama is to stay dog-free after he declared that Bo, his new Portuguese water dog, is to stay well away from the bedding of him and his wife Michelle, instead giving him his own private space.

Obama dog 'not allowed on president's bed linen' Bo Obama, now affectionately known as the First Dog, is not going to share his master's boudoir after the president of the US, Barack Obama, stated that the pooch would get nowhere near his bed linen.

The six-month-old Portuguese water dog the Obamas adopted is subject to only this personal rule, following his choice as a good breed due to Malia Obama's allergies, meaning that a hypoallergenic dog was an important addition to the first family.

President Obama stated that he and the family would be taking turns to do the rounds when taking care of the dog, with each family member walking it and being fully responsible as dog owners in the wider community - including keeping it off the bed linen.

The event was one of the more light-hearted Obama-based topics in the last few weeks, with the president telling the press that Bo had "star quality" - much like himself, as many photographers will no doubt agree.
