The best way to bring the fresh new weather into the bedroom is through the use of pastel colours, according to an interior design expert, who said that curtains, bed linen and other bedding can use this to their advantage.
Pastel shades are officially in vogue this season, according to a design expert, who has dispensed wisdom to her creative brethren in time for spring.Fionnuala Johnston, the design manager at B&Q, stated that the best way to inject that vintage, cosy or coastal feel into a room in the house is to use such tones.
She explained that when used in tandem with floral of gingham prints and even with ribbon, lace and embroidery, a homeowner can get a lot of life out of pastel hues.
Mr Johnston added: "Alternatively, be imaginative and revamp a piece of furniture by painting it a pastel shade, or choose wallpaper or bed linen in a pastel pattern. Even a discreet nod to pastels will make your rooms feel ready for spring."
