Bedding 'ought to use primary colours'
Published: 14 April 2010
Through the use of primary colours, people can really learn to appreciate their bedroom in the summer, as it may be the case that anything other than vivid hues will not be comforting enough during the warmer months.
Bold colours are the be-all and end-all for bedroom design in the next couple of months, according to an expert in home design.Rob Nathan, the group marketing manager at Media 10, who led the charge for the Ideal Home Show in London this month, asserted that bright colour schemes are this summer's top pick and that people simply desire a vibrant approach to bedding and decor during the warmest time of the year.
"There will always be a sway for this type of audience towards pastel colours," he said, "but what our ambassadors and experts are trying to push together is a lot of bold, a lot of striking colours."
Red and orange are the best choices for bed linen , despite being seen by many as relatively boring in the past, Mr Nathan concluded.
Katrina Burroughs of the Times disagrees, however; she believes that inky indigo and other nautical colours are the best direction to go when it comes to designer fashion this month; something backed up by Marks & Spencer's most recent marketing campaign for clothing.
