Lighting 'must be top of the bedroom design bill'

Using a mixture of lighting techniques is very important, it was added, whether it is general all-encompassing lamps, task lighting harnessing bright spotlights to focus on certain areas or activities such as reading, or accent lighting that develops the mood of a room.
This week, the Guardian revealed that electricity generated by pedestrians walking around the city centre has been used to illuminate street lights in France's technology capital Toulouse, in an effort to cut carbon emissions.
