Warm hues 'always welcome' in apartment design
Published: 09 April 2010
Warm hues should always be embraced in a bedroom design as they are reliably comforting, according to one expert, who also went on to recommend a range of accompanying details for the bedroom.
Red and orange are fantastic colours to embrace when creating a new design for the bedroom, according to an expert in design principles.Julie Craig, a 27-year-old part-time yoga instructor and Thai masseuse, made her point of view clear to the Montreal Gazette, explaining that her chosen palette has been infused with her love for brightly-coloured accessories that she picked up during trips to Asia.
However, it is also more domestic things that have influenced her ideas - wooden textures from the hardwood floors of her home were also noted as complementary to the colours she chose.
Alongside reds and oranges in bed linen and other bedding in her home, she added: "In the bedroom I have mostly sentimental decorations like family photos and a beautiful painting that one of my best friends did for me.
"I have a great cherry wood dresser that contrasts nicely with the colour of the hardwood floors."
The importance of good bedroom furniture was emphasised by the Daily Monitor, which explained that many people may overlook the importance of bedroom furniture when creating a new look.
