Put your sensible head on when choosing bathroom flooring
Published: 26 April 2012
Think practically when selecting your bathroom flooring.
When redecorating your bathroom - or any space for that matter - it is easy to get carried away on a sea of different coloured paints, various patterned wallpapers and attractive accessories. However, the time will come when you have to make a sensible decision and it is important not to shirk your responsibility when this occurs.
One such occasion is when choosing your bathroom flooring and I've found that this is the point at which I have to stop gazing longingly at pretty bathroom towels and mats.
Now, my first response when looking at flooring for either the kitchen or the bathroom is tiles.
I have always loved tiles in rooms that receive a lot of hammering dirt-wise, because they are easy to clean.
However, I was reminded by my husband that they could be a massive health hazard for both us and our children, so I had to think carefully.
Thus, I decided to follow the advice of Philiep Caryn, communications and sponsorship manager at Quick-Step, and I recommend you do to.
"Bathroom flooring must be practical first and foremost, able to withstand water and provide slip-resistance," he recommended, which, to me, are some priceless words of wisdom.
