'Glamping' may take bedding outdoors

The new fad of glamping - or glamorous camping - may cause people to consider making choices for bedding outside the house, even buying luxurious Egyptian cotton bed linen for their fancy tent holiday.
The new trend of glamping - or glamorous camping - was highlighted at a recent festival as a potential place for an assortment of linens, it has emerged. In a column for the Guardian, Jonathon Freedland uncovered the increasingly popular idea of glamping after a tent at Glastonbury offered a £6,000-per-couple experience fitted with Egyptian cottonduvet sets and bed linen, alongside a supply of champagne in the fridge.
Freedland added that the "call of nature" - that is to say, the return to the camping holiday - is due to holidaymakers wanting a more "authentic" experience, even if it is more glamorous than usual with the addition of luxury bed linen and duvet sets available.
However, in regards to camping in general, Freedland added: "A kind of Monty Python Four Yorkshiremen reverse logic prevails, where the more rough edges you endure, the greater the kudos you acquire."
In a report for the Times, Lisa Armstrong noted that glamping "rapidly turns back into camping" when waste starts to build up.
