Baby bedding tips offered to first-time parents
Published: 27 August 2008
A website that offers advice to first-time parents has stressed the importance of getting the correct bedding for their baby, recommending certain bed linens and blankets to correctly address the right temperature and safety of their little ones.
Baby bedding is important to the newborn's well-being and as such should be seen as an important purchase by first-time mums and dads, a parental advice website has noted.Describing the buying of bedding as an "exciting and scary" experience, Baby University noted the "obvious necessities" as a crib and a cradle mattress, a crib bed sheet and a mattress pad to protect the foam underneath from spillages.
Soft cotton was noted as the best fabric for keeping a baby cool, adding that parents needed to look at product reviews when needed to see if it was all natural and without safety hazards.
It added that although a list should be adhered to on the first visit to buy baby bedding, a trend for the child's room should be chosen first to make the purchase completely worthwhile.
A recent study by the University of Notre Dame in America found that opinions over co-sleeping with babies and infants were divided due to arguments of safety concerns and family bonding.
