A reporter for New Zealand's Our Homes Today has remarked on the high quality of Egyptian cotton and added that her house was now full of bed linen and duvet sets that use the luxury fabric.
In a report for Our Homes Today, Robyn Yousef remarked on the quality and thread count of what she believes is the most luxurious fabric to own.The New Zealander commented on Egyptian cotton and how it was like "a balm to the skin" when lying on her bedding upon returning home from a "hot and dusty day Cairo day".
Following a move back to New Zealand however, Ms Yousef believed the prevalent "crisp white and pastels" designs to be mundane, but soon changed her bed linen and duvet sets to Egyptian cotton after missing its quality.
A local producer of the fabric said to Ms Yousef: "Egyptian cotton is the best cotton in the world.
"It is traditionally grown in the Nile delta region and is still picked by hand."
A fabric stockists speaking to the Detroit Free Press said that Egyptian cotton "offered the most comfort".
