Ideal Homes: Celeb glamour starts in the bedroom

A home improvement and decorating magazine has told budding designers that celebrity glamour within the home starts in the bedroom, with bedding, duvet sets and Egyptian cotton perhaps contributing to a new look.
A magazine specialising in home decoration and interior design has emphasised the importance of the bedroom in achieving "celebrity glamour" in the home.Isobel McKenzie-Price of Ideal Homes noted that a redesign of the bedroom - perhaps including duvet sets, bed linen and Egyptian cotton - could give the home an added level of luxury.
She said: "Celebrity glamour and lifestyle have a huge influence on home decor, particularly in the bedroom.
"Our current celebrity fixation is responsible for the enduring popularity of romantic Rococo style - over-the-top gold, satin, crystal and French-style furniture."
The British Retail Consortium revealed recently that the DIY market in the UK has grown by 17.7 per cent since 2003 to a value of £16.1 billion, with paint, wall lining and wallpaper accounting for over a fifth of sales.
