Local ark in plea for bedding

It seems that humans are not the only ones in need of bedding, after a plea by Fareham's RSPCA for people to send in their unneeded bed linen, duvet sets and cotton sheets to give a place of rest to hundreds of animals at Stubbington Ark.
The Royal Society for the Protection of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA) has urged locals and animal lovers alike to give up any old bedding to help out animals near Portsmouth.A report by the Portsmouth News emphasised the plight of cuddly critters from Stubbington Ark, which needed bedding and duvet covers to help them rest after the local RSPCA had run low on blankets and bedspreads.
Vanessa Eden, who was raising funds, said: "We need old blankets, duvet covers, pillowcases, old towels and shredded paper to provide warm bedding for the domestic, wildlife and exotics that cross our threshold every day."
Dr Allan Paul, speaking to the Aledo Times Record in the US, stressed the importance of washing a pet's bedding during the warm summer months as fleas and animal larva are regularly found there.
