Bedding and children 'must get reacquainted early'
Published: 25 August 2009
Children are heading back to school soon and as a result, they need to be under the duvet covers and bed linen earlier each night. A parent must start this trend as soon as possible, it has been asserted.
Parents must start to get their children reacquainted with their bedding much earlier on a night if they're to stand a chance of getting up in reasonable time every morning, according to a new report.Mary Wagner, a sleep specialist and pulmonologist at the University of Florida, told the Orlando Sentinel that change cannot be left until the last weekend before starting back at school.
Paediatric sleep expert Akinyemi Ajayi agreed with this, adding that they must make sure they are up on time regardless of when they went to bed so they are encouraged to go to bed earlier.
Sleep schedules aren't the only thing to concern yourself with as a parent, however, with Bell Environmental Services stating earlier this week that bedbugs are more likely to appear under bed linen and duvet covers after children return from holidays, where the critters may latch onto clothes and baggage.
