To change the look of a bedroom, people ought to consider the effect simple small details may have on the overall feel, such as the lining of bed linen and duvet covers.

Bedroom decor change 'needs little effort' Autumn and winter are arriving and it's time to change up a room's interior to get the full effect of seasonal change, it has been recommended.

Mary Carol Garrity, a bedding veteran writing for the Scripps Howard News Service, explained that many individuals need to aim for a welcoming and cosy environment, making bed linen one of the best things to use to get a new look and warmth at the same time.

Environmentally-friendly fabrics such as bamboo are noted for their current popularity by the writer, who said they can be used as an alternative to Egyptian cotton, using accents in the linen to get new colours into the room.

Adding more decorating tips, Ms Garrity continued: "If your bedroom is a bit sad and shabby, give the walls some new paint, consider more functional furniture, think about better lighting and add some fresh accessories."

Nina Yun of CTW Features last week commented on the how colour and feng shui work together in the bedroom, warning against potentially antagonistic colours such as red.
