Brad Pitt 'allowed to sleep' by director
Published: 24 August 2009
Brad Pitt was given regular sleeping breaks by Quentin Tarantino to put his feet up and rest on set without any fear that the director would disturb his bedding to take famous photos, it has been revealed.
Quentin Tarantino is known for his measured and friendly approach to directing and interacting, yet sleeping on set is very much frowned upon by the filmmaking legend.Recently, he commented on the issue when he was promoting his new film Inglourious Basterds, explaining: "One of the things that's kind of funny is we try to usually discourage sleeping on the set - it can happen from time to time."
Quentin, armed with a famous purple adult toy known only as Big Jerry, makes sure that it's impossible for anyone to want to snooze, creating a wall of shame by putting the dodgy shape near to stars in photos of them taking a break from filming.
Brad Pitt, however, was spared after a little while, with Quentin allowing him to dive under bed linen every now and again out of compassion.
Tarantino explained: "Because Brad has a big family at home, sleeping on the set is the only time he gets to sleep."
Inglourious Basterds has received mixed reviews and details the adventures of a group of Jewish renegade soldiers aiming to kill a famous Nazi "Jew hunter".
