Diabetes linked to lack of sleep

Now may be the time to invest in bed linen such as Egyptian cotton, as nice bedding will no doubt contribute to the most comfortable way of avoiding a newly-perceived increased risk of diabetes.
Sleep is important to keep on top of many possible health ailments, though a new risk has been discovered in those not getting their head down early on a night.Plamen Palev, a doctor working with the University of Chicago, linked the onset of diabetes with a lack of sleep in a piece published in the Endocrine Society's Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism, highlighting the need for people to get as comfortable on a night as possible - perhaps through a luxurious bedding purchase.
"If confirmed by future larger studies, these results would indicate that a healthy lifestyle should include not only healthy eating habits and adequate amounts of physical activity but also obtaining a sufficient amount of sleep," the doctor said of his findings.
Diabetes UK emphasises that white people over 40 years old who are overweight are at risk of Type 2 diabetes, while those from ethnic minorities should keep an eye on their health from as early as 25.
