Egyptian cotton 'is finest bed linen'
Published: 04 August 2009
Those who want only the finer things in life should opt for Egyptian cotton bedding, it is suggested.
Bed linen made from 100 per cent Egyptian cotton is the finest bedding around, it has been advised. It feels soft on the skin and lasts longer than many other fibres, explains furniture retailer Lombok.
"Cotton in its natural form is a breathable fibre making it very easy to wash and iron and will help keep you cool in the hot sultry summers," it adds.
After choosing new bedding, the retailer urges Brits to put as much importance into making their beds, saying this can give any room the feel of a five-star hotel.
Both housewife and Oxford pillowcases should be used, as well as cushions, for the finishing touches, it concludes.
Students are also being urged to carefully consider their bedding before they head off to university.
It has been suggested that they use bed linen to make a statement about their personality and take a favourite pillow or comforter from home to ease their move.
