Seasonal change 'needn't be huge' with bedroom decor
Published: 18 August 2009
People wanting to reflect seasonal change in the bedroom ought to consider the small, cheap adjustments which can be made, such as an investment in bed linen and other bedding to complete the look.
Small changes and prior planning are all that's needed by a budding designer if they want to make the most of seasonal decorating changes, it is said.Karen Blissenbach, a member of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID), told CTW Features that by a simple swap of trims and accents in bed linen or paint, people can revolutionise the look of their boudoir at a low price.
With the bed being the centrepiece of most bedrooms, extra emphasis may be placed on it by its users who want to capture the colour they really want through bedding and duvet covers, though curtains are also a good thing to use.
"If you have a situation where there are permanent shades, maybe in the winter months, add drapes; and in the summer and spring months, go with sheer," Ms Blissenbach added.
Founded in 1975, the ASID is the oldest professional organisation for interior designers in the world.
