Adults still sharing beds with childhood bears

Many UK adults still take their teddies to bed with them, a Travelodge survey shows.
Taking a teddy bear to bed may be thought of as something children do, but it seems adults are still keen to share their duvet cover with a furry friend.A survey conducted by budget hotel chain Travelodge discovered that 35 per cent of adults in the UK find comfort from their stuffed toys at the end of a hard day.
In addition, more than half (51 per cent) of those surveyed said they still own cuddly toys from their childhood.
Perhaps more worryingly, a quarter of the male respondents said they often take their teddy away with them when they go on business trips, mainly as it reminds them of home.
Psychologist Corrine Sweet said: "Cuddling a teddy bear is an important part of our national psyche as it evokes a sense of peace, security and comfort.
"It's human nature to crave these feelings from childhood to adult life."
Factory workers and civil servants were recently identified by Travelodge as some of the UK's most sleep-deprived people.
