There are a number of things people need to bear in mind when keeping their bath towels fresh.
Keeping bath towels in top condition is simple, providing people know which steps to follow, it has been claimed.According to the Stir blog, washing bath towels before using them for the first time will help improve absorbancy, which can often be reduced by fabric softeners used by manufacturers.
It is also important not to overload the washing machine, as this can prevent the bathroom linen from smelling fresh and being completely clean.
The blog advised against using a high heat in the tumble dryer as this can eventually take its toll on the fabric, as can using harsh detergents.
"Make sure to hang them up to dry between uses, too. Moist towels in a ball on the floor or in a hamper are just asking for mildew smell, mold, and bacteria," it continued.
A piece for the Seattle Times recently pointed out that purchasing good quality bath towels is "worth the splurge", mainly because they are better at absorbing moisture.
