Bedding 'treated like a wardrobe'
Published: 08 December 2008
An interior designer has spoken of how people are increasingly treating bedding like their wardrobe, with fashion and customisation playing a big part in a person's choice of bed linen and duvet covers.
Creating the perfect bed for the winter involves a little bit of ingenuity and a blank canvas, according to one industry expert.Juliana Goodwin of the Springfield News-Leader spoke to Joshua Thomas of Target Stores, who highlighted the most recent trend in bedding.
He said that by choosing a neutral tone for the bedspread, a person is able to emphasise colour with a bright throw or duvet cover.
Mr Thomas added: "It's how you think about building a wardrobe to last by starting with black and then adding a pop of colour with a scarf or (other accessories)."
Home Decorating Ideas said that a good way to use neutral colour in the winter months was to embrace reddish hues to create a warming effect for the room.
