Bedding turns guest room into 'home from home'

Citing the case of a friend who put her up for the evening, a Canadian reporter has sung the praises of bedding and its instrumental part in creating a comforting home from home, with bed linen bringing domestic relaxation.
Making your guests feel at home is as easy as getting the right bedding, one interior specialist has found.Canadian reporter Kelly Deck told the Globe and Mail that her friend Gillian had put together the most comforting set-up for guests through entirely self-taught ingenuity - with the domestic goddess injecting flair into the spare room with the right bedding.
She continued: "What Gillian has done is arrange the room around an overscale headboard with a beefy frame and rich upholstery, offsetting the piece's visual weight with contemporary floral bedding and silk decorative cushions."
Ms Deck added that room must be given to individuals to unpack into, with wardrobes and dressers allowing them to feel like it is their own area, instead of forcing them to live out of bags.
Last month, the writer said that using light colours for interior decorating gave a room the feeling of elegance, space and functionality.
