It can speed up the aging process, meaning people develop wrinkles before their time and will not live as long as if they were well rested, explains Dr Peeke in an article for Fitness magazine.
With a busy lifestyle, a good night's sleep can be hard to come by, "but the sleepier you are, the more you'll eat, because your body thinks the extra calories will help it overcome the exhaustion", Dr Peeke explains.
Furthermore, willpower will be weaker when you are tired, making you more likely to eat and less likely to exercise.
