People looking to spruce up their bedroom decor this Christmas ought to consider how bed linen, furniture and other bedding can be used to create the perfect 1950s look, it has been explained.
There is a major revival of old trends in regards to home decor, according to an interior design expert.Carolyn McTighe of Canada's Sun Media explained that the "kooky decade" of the 1950s provides homeowners with a plethora of possible combinations in terms of decoration, with the bedroom being central to any such changes in the house.
She explained that retro retailers are now booming because of the demand for throwback items, not least furniture - something that is a worthwhile investment for the boudoir, such as nightstands and dressers to match bed linen and other bedding of similar ochre.
However, the most luck can be had when finding accessories for the kitchen, given the large number of utensils, furniture styles and lighting, with Ms McTighe emphasising the attractive nature of such items as well as their accessibility on the internet.
A firm proponent of her own bedding is Susan Boyle, who happily states that she prefers her council house's bedroom in West Lothian to the rooms of the Ritz-Carlton, according to the Daily Mail.
