Bedrooms should 'reflect tastes of user'
Published: 09 December 2009
People wanting to turn their bedroom into something to their standards should consider how to inject personality into it, whether it is with basic floor plans, Egyptian cotton bed linen or other additions.
When designing a bedroom, people must ensure that personality is at the forefront of any new layout, style or fashion, according to one writer.David Ferguson, in a special to the Toronto Star, said that the bedroom is the ultimate room in the house to reflect one's individuality and should be created to suit personal habits, whether it is through luxury bed linen or furniture.
He continued: "In recent years, bedrooms have become more than a place to sleep. They have become stylish retreats in which to read, lounge, exercise or work."
Mr Ferguson also recommended that many careers in the modern world require people to sleep during the day and if this applies to someone, they should complement bedding investments with an investment in sun-darkening window treatments to black the room out.
People wanting to "beautify" their bed will do well if they invest in a runner to go along the bottom of their duvet cover, according to advice from the Home Improvement Project earlier this week.
