Everyone's trying to save money in the recession, which is probably why American Profile has come up with a basic yet good tip for people to follow when redecorating their home.Instead of going to the shops to complement a new set or just a simple change of bedding, people should instead take a tour of their own house to see if anything there is worth reusing elsewhere, such as paintings and ornaments.
Failing that, a person may instead want to buy some paint and go over old furniture to give it an entirely new appeal.
Shannon Kaye, a designer with the DIY Network's Fresh Coat, said of repurposing items: "A sideboard from the dining room may make a beautiful entertainment centre in the family room. Or, turn a single bed into a luxurious daybed for the sunroom or living room."
Recently, the Toledo Blade recommended that individuals ought to get more festive cheer in their homes, using decorations, trees and a limited number of colours to make their home look welcoming and festive.
