House must be 'consistently decorated' for Christmas
Published: 02 December 2009
People must ensure that they decorate their home for Christmas thoroughly, bringing in plenty of bed linen to achieve the overall look, it is said.
Decorating the house for Christmas is extremely important, according to a leading designer, giving tips on how to create the best atmosphere close to Jesus' birthday. When decorating the house, Kris Barnes, a custom interior designer for Classic Cabinets and Interiors with wholesale locations across the northern US, said that during Christmas, families should add festive bows around the home and theme the whole house, the Toledo Blade revealed.
She explained: "Just keep the colour pallet the same. Pick three complementary colours and stick with them."
Ms Barnes, highlighting how bed linen can be brought into the mix in terms of decorating, added: "You can change colours in separate rooms, like bedrooms or bathrooms.
"But keep the general colour pallet the same in all of the open common rooms that flow together."
This follows recommendations from Sun Media writer Carolyn McTighe, who said that the retro look is a firm favourite this winter among those looking for a new decorating style.
