Kurt Warner helps out family with bed linen before Christmas

A leading NFL quarterback has become part of an initiative to give luxury bed linen and other bedding items to an underprivileged family in time for Christmas.
Sportsmen are known for making a lot of money, but not so much for giving it away to charity. Luckily, in the US, stars are almost expected to do just that, with one American football player showing how decent a guy he is by helping in hooking a family up with luxury bed linen and mattresses as Christmas draws in.
First-string quarterback with the Arizona Cardinals Kurt Warner pioneered a project in the city of Mesa alongside Housing Our Communities, helping low and moderate-income individuals get a home.
The player chose Angela Perez and her son Joshua for treats including bed linen, mattresses and other bedding after it was found she had saved money from a $7 (£4.50) an hour job as a nurse to get a $5,000 (£3,000) deposit for the home.
Kurt Warner said: "We understand you can work hard, but there are times in your life when you need someone to believe in you and give you a push and that is what this programme does."
The player reached the Super Bowl last year, being edged for the title by the Pittsburgh Steelers, who beat the Arizona Cardinals in the closing minute of the game.
