X Factor's Joe McElderry 'getting little time in bed'
Published: 15 December 2009
The excitement is clearly getting to the latest winner of the X Factor, as not even luxury bed linen seems to help him sleep, getting just two hours of sleep after discovering that he won the national talent contest.
The winner of the X Factor is understandably excited about his future, yet he is still unable to get any comfort from his bed, if his recent comments are anything to go by.Joe McElderry, the Geordie from South Shields who stormed to victory on Simon Cowell's flagship show, beat rival Olly Murs to the title in front of 19.1 million viewers on Sunday night, though struggled to get any rest before appearing on This Morning the next day.
"I'm on such a buzz [that] it doesn't matter, I don't care", said Joe to Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby.
And he's probably right - with the money he's undoubtedly making, he's bound to be able to afford the finest luxury bed linen such as Egyptian cotton, or even a memory foam mattress.
He is currently promoting The Climb, his single and a cover of a Miley Cyrus song released under the Hannah Montana franchise.
Still, things aren't going too well for young Joe and he may continue to struggle in getting sleep, given that thousands of people are downloading Killing In the Name Of by Rage Against the Machine as a protest against the perceived monopoly of Simon Cowell's music show over the festive period.
