Bed linen helps in fight against crime

Bed linen in the form of pillowcases has been used in a burglars in Australia, claims one newspaper.
Bed linen has played a rather unlikely role in Australia by helping the police catch burglars. The Brisbane Times reports that around 50 victims of robberies have collected pillowcases used in the looting, which they have handed over to the police to help them with their enquiries.
"Finding these matching pillowcases, and people coming forward to identify the goods, really is the key...and there has been a considerable amount of interest," Detective Senior Sargeant Geoff Marsh tells the paper.
He says they have received help from people as far away as Cairns, with the stolen goods set to be put on public display this weekend for people to retrieve them.
Among the items carried away in the pillowcases by the thieves included digital cameras, laptops and 100 items of jewellery, the publication states.
It is not only Australian burgulars who are taking advantage of their bed linen as Ohio's Springfield News Sun recently reported on an armed robbery in which the assailant escaped with a large amount of cash in an army green pillowcase.
