Bedding is 'first consideration' in bedroom redesign

When approaching the decoration of a child's bedroom, it is very important to consider which bedding goes in it, according to a father and designer, who stated that duvet covers and bedspreads are top priority.

Bedding is 'first consideration' in bedroom redesign Buying bedding for a son or daughter's bedroom when redesigning it must be done first as it acts as the focal point of the space and is the most important item of furniture in there, according to an expert.

J M Hirsch stated that when he and his wife decorated their son's room from neutral baby colours to masculine blues, it was the bed linen they looked into first, he told Associated Press.

He said this was "since its colours and patterns would set the tone for the room".

Mr Hirsch continued: "We made a rule: no characters or too-trendy patterns, particularly cheetah print, which surely they'd tire of. This stuff had to last until the next stage of tweendom."

According to House to Home, people should always think of the wider picture when decorating for a child, making it easier for themselves to have adjustments to the space to allow a comfortable transition all the way through to teenager.
