Children 'should have bedrooms with pastel colours'

People wanting to get involved with the decor of their child's bedroom may want to reserve more wild designs for the bed linen, as walls should be kept relatively neutral.
Decor in a child's bedroom should be kept simple as it will likely be changed as they grow older, so bedding and duvet covers may be the focus of any designs more suited to a child's space, it is implied.Rita Minogue of the Ozcar Guide explained that both children and adults love neutral or pastel shades on walls in order to express personality and mooted individuality, though adults are happier with their designs overall as their desires are more developed.
Still, this does not limit children's walls to no form of customisation and should not remain dull in order to make it easier to change in future years.
Ms Minogue explained: "White colour is least recommended. Keep in mind that children grow fast and therefore the colour of the walls and decorative objects might not be very useful in a few years.
"For children the choice of colours is focused on pastel shades with some decorative designs suitable for them."
ShelterPop recently reported the opinions of Erin Loechner, an interior designer who said that striped rugs in primary colours can turn an "otherwise monochromatic palette into a bright, colourful space".
