Storage necessary in small bedrooms and 'perfect' for bed linen
Published: 02 February 2010
Smaller bedrooms need to have an increased emphasis on the role of space-saving storage, with one expert noting how perfect it can be for the likes of bed linen.
Studio apartments and other places with small bedrooms are the target of space-saving advice from a high-end design expert from India who recommends storage for bed linen, duvet covers and other bedding, among other things.Ketan Sheth, the managing director of Goldmine Project Consultants in India, applied his 20 years of experience in the industry to the concept of saving room in every way possible.
Furniture in the boudoir must therefore do "double duty" and store other amenities needed in the bedroom, such as bedding, duvets and other additions to bed linen, while chairs and ottomans with storage areas are also recommended.
"Use containers to hide clutter. Buy wicker baskets or old steamer trunks to store out-of-season clothing, linens and towels," Mr Sheth added. "They will look great and contain all of those small items that make a room look cluttered."
Lighting is also a cornerstone of the bedroom, according to a recent report in the Times of India.
