Brits may often find themselves in a predicament when re-decorating their bedroom over what flooring solution they should install.While fancy wallpapers and luxury bed linens are fun to buy, selecting flooring can be a stressful affair.
It is important to combine functionality with style and for many families a carpet is the perfect option for the bedroom.
Steve Bakker, marketing manager at The WoolSafe Organisation, advises that for a carpet that will remain aesthetically pleasing for longer, people should avoid stain resistant models, as they “ugly out” quicker than wool.
What’s more, Brits must not neglect underlay: “Using a good quality underlay will help to absorb the impact of foot fall, making your carpet last longer,” he advised.
“As an added bonus, [underlay] will help quiet footsteps too.”
Although once a carpet is installed and the bedroom is complete it is tempting to do nothing but laze around in beautiful bedding, Mr Bakker stresses that people must make time to hoover as regularly as possible, as dirt ruins the pile and gives carpets a shorter life span.
