Teens not getting enough sleep, study reveals.
Although it may feel like getting your teenager out of bed is a difficult task, an American study has shown that young adults are in fact not getting as much sleep as they should. The National Sleep Foundation claims that people aged 18 and over should be getting seven to nine hours of sleep per night, but are instead often getting less than six hours every night.
This trend is particularly prevalent among university students who are only getting approximately 42 hours of sleep each week.
Students that don't get enough sleep, whether from pulling an all-nighter or partying, will suffer from lower grades on average than those who get the appropriate amount of sleep.
Rest is also vital to preserve the physical, emotional and mental balance of teenagers.
Key to getting those vital hours of sleep is often having the right bed, quilt and pillow to support the body in the right place. Memory foam bed linen is essential for this.
