Antiques are en vogue for 2012
Published: 06th February 2012
Antiques are a great addition to the bedroom.
Brits looking to transform their bedrooms in 2012 should consider spending some time in antique stores and vintage shops to find that special one-off piece that can transform a space.
Antiques are incredibly en vogue this year and are environmentally friendly to boot.
When used creatively, they are capable of injecting real "individuality and personality" into a room, according to Pippa Roberts, spokeswoman for LAPADA The Association of Art and Antiques Dealers.
With the bedroom being one of the most intimate rooms in the home, complementing your luxury bed linen with items that really say something about you is essential.
What's more, when buying antiques you are generally ensured that you are buying quality.
"You are buying and using things that have been crafted in a time when people still made things by hand, made things carefully and made things to last," Ms Roberts said.
Vintage and antique items also have more "heart" than mass produced pieces.
