'Increase intimacy' with luxury linens

Good quality bed linen such as Egyptian cotton may be the way to get closer to your partner, with the atmosphere of a bedroom being massively improved by bedding to make the space more romantic for lovebirds.

An investment in top quality bed linen and scented candles may make the bedroom a little more intimate for a couple, according to an expert in relationships.

Writing for College News, Caitlin Gray noted that too many people focused on themselves when it came to ramping up the romance in the bedroom, when in reality a change to the atmosphere through bedding may be just the ticket.

By getting "super-soft" sheets with a high thread count such as Egyptian cotton, she said the bed could be made as comfortable as possible, leaving time to concentrate on more important matters.

Scented candles are also recommended, with extra brownie points for those who get the scents their other half loves.

The bed should be made the main event in the room, with regularly washed sheets and a few throw pillows making a boudoir look more relaxing, according to About.com's Francesca Di Meglio.
