Colours 'work wonders' in bedroom
Published: 05 January 2009
Choosing bedding of a certain colour may help a bed linen fan achieve the look they love in their bedroom, as one interior designer has highlighted the power of the correct hues in room design.
The right colour scheme in a bedroom can go a long way in contributing to the space's overall feel to homeowners, according to an American interior design specialist.Carla Bouchard of the Times & Transcript said that emotions and perceptions could be hugely influenced by the correct set-up, with reds known to keep people awake until later and light oranges and peaches helping a person get their head down.
She continued: "No other design element has the quick impact or dramatic effect of colour. It can make the atmosphere in a bedroom lively or restful, can make the high ceiling look lower or a small window look bigger."
According to BBC Homes, colours are known to have a psychological effect on a person's psyche, with green well-recommended for bedrooms as it is calming and restful.
