Not only humans need bedding, say couple
Published: 07 January 2009
Bedding can keep the cold out for people this season when they snuggle up in bed, yet our animal friends will be in need of some for themselves during the winter, according to a charitable pair seeking duvet covers, comforters and bedspreads. One of the best places to escape from the cold is in bed, it can be said, with bedding locking the heat in - with two charitable animal lovers hoping to pass on the benefits.
Judy and Alan Bishop of Great Bentley have appealed to their neighbours through their local Clacton Gazette for any spare bedding which they can send to shelters across the country.
Groups close to their heart include Animal Aid in Clacton and Clarks Farm Greyhound Rescue in Totham, which they hope to send duvet covers, bedspreads and comforters to help a range of animals keep snug.
The largest dog welfare charity in the country is Dogs Trust, which gives a home to thousands of abandoned and stray dogs across the nation.
