White bedding 'loves frost'

People hoping to get the sparkle back into their white sheets have been recommended the abilities of frost, with cold snaps in weather helping duvet covers and bed linen stay bright and clean without the need for special products, it has been said.
Hanging bedding on the line in cold weather is the best way to keep sheets white, according to a top tipster.Writing in the Daily Mirror, Jo Wheatley compiled a list of 101 tips for best practice in the house, with bedding particularly important.
People will get whiter duvet covers without having to spend more money on cleaning products if they just let frost get onto bedding while they are on the clothes line, she noted.
Ms Wheatley added that cold conditions can also help kill dust mites if the user puts bedding in the freezer, which can be particularly useful if it is not possible to wash the bed linen at 60 degrees C.
Leaving dishes and mugs by the bedroom door will highlight the need to take them out and wash up, keeping a bedroom tidy in the process, according to cleaning specialist Mary Moppins.
