Bed linen in earthen colours is 'fab for 2010'
Published: 13 January 2010
People wanting to give their bedroom the right colour scheme through new bed linen or duvet covers may feel the need to invest in earthly and natural hues, it is believed.
More and more people are deciding to embrace the idea of redecorating their homes in the recession, according to a new report, and as such many are looking for new design tips for the bedroom. The Argus Leader explained that many homes are being renovated because people do not want to move house in the current climate.
In conversation with the newspaper, Jasmine Madson and Heidi Coatsworth said that colour should be the main focus of paint, bed linen and other features, as it is both cheap and effective when achieving such a makeover.
Two colours particularly mentioned by Ms Coatsworth are blue and brown, though Ms Madson added that turquoise and purple hues are able to bring a little more creativity to the palette.
It follows advice from the Toronto Star that people may want to look into other cultures and traditions when decorating as people are avoiding the clinical modern styles because they want to tell a story with their room.
