Bedding 'must be tested before use'
Published: 11 January 2010
If people are going to get the most out of a purchase of luxury bed linen, bedding, including the mattress, must be test-driven first, according to a new report.
In investment in luxury bed linen may not come off very well if the mattress underneath it is unsuitable or uncomfortable.Ron Zagel, the president of Jonathan Stevens Mattress Co, recently offered tips to those looking to invest in a new mattress, telling the Grand Rapids Press that people must truly assess the likes of box springs and memory foam before making the purchase.
Comfort should be prioritised over price, as the investment is one of the best to make in the long run; as a result, comfortable clothing should also be worn when test-driving the mattresses as this will mimic the feeling gained from nice bed linen along the way.
Testing more than one mattress in each range is also a great way to differentiate firmness, while a person should spend a minimum of seven to ten minutes on each mattress to get a true feel of them.
It follows a report from McRoskey Mattress that mattresses play a major part in day-to-day health and must be the top purchase for anyone waking up with aches and pains.
