Four sleep positions 'say a lot about character'

When involved with bed linen on an evening, people adopt one of four distinct sleeping styles, all of which show a genuine level of personality, it has been identified.

Four sleep positions 'say a lot about character' One woman has consulted books galore to give a full analysis of what a sleep position can say about a person as they embrace their bedding each evening.

Janet Kinosian of the Huffington Post kicked off by exploring the prone position, where the sleeper lies face down on their stomach.

She said that such individuals tend to have "strong compulsive tendencies" as well as a level of stubbornness in their personalities and are more likely to be goal-oriented or persistent.

Meanwhile, the royal position, fully on the back, with arms slightly out at the sides, promotes self-confidence and is often the favourite of workaholics and entrepreneurs.

The semi-foetal position is one of the most popular and is a position which is conciliatory, non-threatening, and comfortable, Ms Kinosian continued, adding that "sleep experts claim this to be the optimal sleep posture position".

Finally, full-foetal sees sleepers lie curled up on their side under their bed linen, with knees pulled all the way up and heads bent forward, and is the speciality of highly emotional, sensitive and intense individuals.

This month, Vicky Sanderson of the Toronto Star said that people need to be wary of bedding with a high thread count as such a measurement does not necessarily mean that the quality and length of the fibres are impressive or that bed linen is well made.
