Sharon Stone compares Meryl Streep to dishevelled bedding
Published: 07 January 2010
In a somewhat backhanded compliment to her fellow star of the silver screen, Sharon Stone has compared Meryl Streep - and herself by extension - with dishevelled bed linen.
Sharon Stone may have been a little heavy-handed with her comparison of Meryl Streep to unmade bed linen in a recent interview with Tatler.According to the star of Basic Instinct, Meryl is an actress getting a lot of work in recent years due to her looks - though not in the traditional sense.
Sharon said that she is a woman that others can relate to, adding: "I look at her and I think, 'I'm chasing my kids, I've moved my parents in with me, I'm coping with food spills - that looks like me in real life'. Meryl looks like an unmade bed, and that's what I look like. To me, that looks true."
Meryl Streep will be hoping for her 14th Oscar for her role in Julie & Julia, which is expected to sweep a number of awards. Any more awards will follow similar gongs for portrayals in Kramer vs Kramer, The Deer Hunter, Adaptation and The Devil Wears Prada.
