Homeowners 'getting more adventurous' with wallpaper and lighting

Contemporary wallpaper, lighting and bed linen are proving more popular among homeowners.
Homeowners are becoming more adventurous when it comes to wallpaper and lighting in their homes, according to a leading interior designer.Blending traditional themes with modern-day colour schemes is becoming more popular, claims hillhouseinteriors.com directors Helen Bygraves and Jenny Weiss.
They noted a resurgence in textured wallpapers, such as green print and other bold colours.
"It seems wallpapers are part of the new England look - that includes shutters bookcases, show books - that sort of thing and an array of contemporary colours," the pair explained. "It's a traditional theme evolving into more of a modern-day colour scheme."
There has also been a move towards low-energy lighting products, as lighting design in the bedroom, bathroom and other parts of the house come to the fore.
Ms Bygraves and Ms Weiss point out that bed linens daubed with printed, contemporary colours are on the resurgence, which is great news for adventurous homeowners considering a refurbishment.
