Consider mood when choosing bed linen colours, designer advises
Published: 06 July 2009
When selecting a new colour scheme for the bedroom it is important to consider what atmosphere you want to create, one design expert has suggested.
The colour of bed linen will affect the mood of the bedroom and should therefore be chosen with care, said interior decorator John Wright.Colours affect the emotional, psychological and physical state, he told the Sowetan, so people must consider what mood they want to create with their bedding.
The natural light, existing furnishings and aspect of the room should be taken into account, Mr Wright added.
He pointed out that red will raise energy levels, blood pressure and heart rate, so could be a good choice for those looking for some excitement in their bedding, while blue is good for those who want a relaxing bedroom.
Light purples promote rest and green is both refreshing and cheerful, Mr Wright continued.
