Technology is interfering with people's ability to get a good night's sleep under their luxury bed linen, it has been suggested.Speaking to the Philadelphia Inquirer, Connecticut Gaylord Hospital director of sleep research Meir Kryger advised people to keep gadgets out of the bedroom.
She told the newspaper: "You have people texting at all hours of the night. I had one patient whose problem was e-mail.
"He thought if he got an e-mail at 02:00 (local time), he should respond at 02:00. I gave him the same advice I give 90 per cent of my patients: 'Turn off the stupid computer'."
Earlier this month, people struggling with sleep were advised to drink tart cherry juice by researchers at the University of Rochester, who suggest it could be a natural solution for insomnia.
A study carried out by the researchers and published in the Journal of Medicinal Food indicated that drinking the tart juice daily produced better sleep results than in patients drinking a similar non-tart cherry juice drink.
