John Lennon and Yoko Ono may not have been powered by their love for bed linen as much as their desire for peace, though bedding is a prevalent feature in the range of photographs now on display at the site of the Woodstock festival.

Bed linen takes back seat to bed Lennon Ex-Beatle John Lennon and his wife Yoko Ono have been pictured in a new set of photos detailing their famous bed-in over 40 years ago at a New York hotel.

The photos on display were taken by Gerry Deiter, depicting the couple in their white bedding-based sanctuary, surrounded by young fans, personalities and other factions such as a group of Hare Krishnas.

The exhibition is being staged at a museum on the site of the Woodstock festival, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary this August.

Mr Deiter, who passed away in 2001, was allowed to take photos by the pair, who were busy writing new songs, spreading the word to major personalities who supported their cause and telling everyone to give peace a chance.

Yoko Ono was recently congratulated at the Mojo Awards, getting a lifetime achievement gong for her contribution to music.
