An MP is defending his expenditure of £426 in one go on the finest bed linen that money can buy - Egyptian cotton-based solutions - in another case dug up through the Daily Telegraph's expenses saga.
Another MP has claimed bed linen on expenses, though this one has not held back on getting a standard set, instead splashing the cash on quality many people would usually save up for.Conservative MP for Beverley and Holderness Graham Stuart defended his spending of £426 on an Egyptian cotton king-size duvet cover, four pillow cases, two natural pillows and another dozen or so items, making his comments to the Hull Daily Mail.
He said: "I have to spend four days a week living in London and I needed linen for my new flat.
"Although it wasn't cheap, it is still all in use and I don't expect it to need replacing any time soon."
The expenses row today claimed another high-profile individual, with Jacqui Smith understood to be resigning upon Gordon Brown's next cabinet reshuffle.
