Romantic bedroom 'does not have to break bank'

By simply mixing bedding and duvet covers, a couple can create a romantic bedroom on a budget, according to an expert in the field, stressing the role of senses other than sight to establish a sensual atmosphere.
It is much easier than many people may think to establish a romantic bedroom for yourself and your partner, according to an expert in home decor.Speaking to the MCT News Service, US-born celebrity interior designer Kenneth Brown said the key to a wonderful room is to ensure that all senses are catered for, including touch, smell and sound.
Mixing different materials for bedding, such as silk bedspreads with sateen sheets, will always be a winning strategy, the expert emphasised.
Smell-wise, Mr Brown continued: "Vanilla and cinnamon-scented candles are a perfect way to spice up your bedroom, not to mention the added benefit of flickering candlelight."
Further expanding on lighting, he added that textured lampshades are great ways to diffuse light throughout the bedroom and set the romantic mood even further.
Earlier this month, Hitched magazine revealed that only certain things were really necessary in setting up a romantic mood, such as satin pillows, black and white photos, scented candles and the staples of strawberries and champagne.
